Story boarding

As we’re still working out the kinks in the plot and how we’d be able to portray certain emotions through our shots, we decided to start storyboarding to see how our short would come to life. This excerpt here is after the establishment shots of the beach and as soon as the kid comes off of the chair from getting his face painted.
We really want this sequence of shots to have a very friendly and heartfelt feel to it which is why we will be using mostly medium and close up shots. This is essential since there is no dialogue, we have to heavily rely on the actor's facial expressions. After each action one of them do, like the man going up to sit on the chair or picking his face paint design, we will always cut back to the other's reaction. This helps to develop the progression in their relationship and how they will become more comfortable with each other as the short continues.

I will make sure to add the rest of pages of the storyboarding to the blog (once I find them hahaha) but here is the basic idea for our opening shots.
